Improve your hygiene to better protect yourself
Pathogenic bacteria
The vast majority of bacteria that inhabit our bodies are harmless or are even beneficial to our bodies. However, some of them, such as the well-known E.coli and staphylococcus, cause infections that can range from simple spots to meningitis, a sore throat, gastroenteritis and skin problems. Often, the infection is down to poor hygiene, for example, accidental ingestion of faecal bacteria caused by putting dirty hands in your mouth. These pathogens can be found on all everyday objects, both indoors and outdoors, but particularly in the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms, stuffed animals and even children's feeding bottles.
